(announced is the fact that the sock puppet show to follow is allegedly Quentin Tarantino's most recent 'completed' dramatic literary effort; "Wet Money"...
in a gada da vida plays as two sock puppets walk on to the sock puppet stage. both are smoking cigarettes and wearing skinny black neckties and dark sunglasses...)

Sockpuppet A: 'Damn I love pancakes. Those pancakes sure hit the spot.'

Sockpuppet B: 'Yes they did. Now let's go do something illegal in an ironically relaxed manner while we think of anything pointless to casually debate that Quentin Tarantino hasn't already had someone else debate in some other thing he's already written.'

A: 'Yes, let's. My little notebook here says that our next so-called donor is Mr. Smullen Mullins.'

B: 'For real?'

A: 'I shizzle you not. Our benefactor has identified Mr. Smullen Mullins as the next donor.'

B: 'THE Mr. Smullen Mullins?'

A: 'No, you peckerhead. Some OTHER Mr. Smullen Mullins. How many guys do you think I could be talking about?'

B: 'Sure. I can see that. What was the new delivery point for Mr. Smullen Mullens' donation?'

A: 'We're there now.'

B: 'Whatthe fuck do you mean were there NOW?'

A: 'I mean there IS NO new delivery point. What the fuck do you think I mean?'

B: 'Jeez, did someone piss in your cornflakes? So we're there NOW. I get it. So what do we do now Hawking? There's nobody here.'

A: 'We wait.'

B: 'We wait?'

(voodoo lady play as the clock spins some more)

B: 'I see your point about your sister's interior decorating skills, and I do think she warrants a better kind of attention that what she's been getting,

(both begin firing and repeatedly shouting 'Fuck You')

(after caps are gone, A collapses, hanging off the puppet stage. pause)

Good Bad Movie Night?

Jim and John and I have discussed a plan to show a good movie and treat it the same way we treat the bad ones, just to see how it works out.

I figure we can't do any worse than we just did with OC &Stiggs; a 'comedy' so dismally unfunny that the 'jokes' on screen kept killing the buzz from the off-screen humor as quicly as anyone could speak.

My first thought for the Good Bad Movie was 'the Godfather', but it's clearly too long.

Jim picked 'Taxi Driver', which is probably perfect.

OTOH, maybe we could show 'The Good, the Bad and the Ugly' and just call it 'Ugly Movie Night'

Please, people... share your thoughts.

Mikl-Em and I have been kicking this around and trying to convince Jim that it's worth doing and totally legal. (Which it is). Basically, you record the audio stream (the main hecklers, and any ambient peanut gallery) and you offer it as a pod cast. You come up with some clever, repeatable, hight distiguishable sound that lets the podcastees know when to hit play on their DVDs. Similar to starting DarkSide of the Moon when the MGM Lion roars at the beginning of the Wizard of Oz.

No worries about copyright, as you aren't rebroadcasting or redistributing the original film in any way.

Perhaps one of our happy bullhorn toting cacophonists could just yell, "press play NOW, Loser!"

This could also be done with a live feed, again only need a sync point for the home audience.

"Debbie Harry and Rachel" by the infamous Russ Meyers, a man who clearly wasn't weaned properly. Of course I had no probelm with this film, because I was the only one who noticed the opening credits message screen "DROP NOW!". Wow, or, in pallindromese, wow.

It was a night of high and weird drama, involving EVERYONE close to this event. Even me this time, and I'm not taking about the obligatory beer spilling. The number of misunderstood miscommunications outweighed the humorous ripartee, if not the gratuitous breasts.

Let's all take a breath and start again. It's fun, more fun that a drunken monkey with a can of Cheese Whiz, this Bad Movie Night. I blame KQED for throwing us off our regular meds, them with their damn membership drive.

Next week we all get along.

Dragnet the Movie The TV Show

Dragnet is reputed to be the first movie ever made from a TV show. I've never seen it, but given the patented wooden acting style of Jack Webb and Ben Alexander, I should think that this movie may make it to the Bad Movie Hall of Fame.

After seeing Wonder Woman I had a hankering for Hostess Sno Balls, the most breast-like snack food on the planet. It was then that I discovered what appears to be a city-wide Sno Ball shortage! I went to three stores and while they had Hostess cupcakes and Twinkies and even Ding Dongs, there were no Sno Balls to be had.

Alas, it was not a good way to end the (early) evening.

"Star Trek V is without question the worst Star Trek film ever made."

These words came from Hal Robins as he sat quietly at my kitchen table at 1am this morning. He then expounded at length on the miscast characters, the lack of logical continuity, and of course the inept direction by James T. Kirk himself. If I recall correctly (it was late for me) at some point in this film you will see a turkey coming out of an oven in the Enterprise's galley, although we all know that food was synthesized on command in a recessed Ikea countertop.

Will the scheduled set of professional hecklers (Sherlyn Connelly, Sean Owens & 80s Teen Idol Jascha Ephraim) remember to attend? Can Jascha return from Nashville in time or will geekboy wrap his beefy fists around the mike and breath out cholesterol-saturated taunts and triple entendres? Will Hal be there to sign autographs (no questions!) on one of his last SF outings before leaving us for a stylish but whore-ridden Hollywood bungalow?

Bring what's left of your street cred, your $5, your hip flask and a fattie for me... BECAUSE TONIGHT IS SUNDAY NIGHT IS BAD MOVIE NIGHT!!!?!

The present and only purpose of this tribe is to promote the adoption of the metric system to replace the Electoral College. I know it was invented by the French and lots of Canadians use it, but the metric system is not all bad. For example, there are 50 states, which can easily be expressed in base ten as "50". There. Take it from here...
